He should do, yeah.
As of the 18th of March, Disney has been under the management of Josh DeMauro, who before that point had been the chairman of Disney Experiences.
So that division that includes all the resorts and theme parks.
And part of why he was chosen for that top role is because of the job he did in navigating them out of the pandemic and to that incredibly lucrative position they're in now.
There's been a bit of reorganisation going on, so it's not a totally fair comparison, but income of the parks and resorts in 2019 was just over $6.7 billion.
So it's up close to 50% since then.
From a business perspective, at least, he's done very, very well.
And one interpretation of that is that he knows the customer, he knows the brand, and he knows how to get the most out of those things.
At the same time, it is worth bearing in mind that he was head of the division during the period when the prices rose sharply.
The perks like the fast pass were removed.
You know, that's the timeframe Bob Iger was talking about, those alarming price increases, which is something Bob Chapek got the blame for ultimately.
His term, Bob Chapek's term at the top also only lasted for just over two years.
It is worth noting as well, kind of rhyming with that with DeMauro.
Before he was named CEO, Chapek was also head of the company's parks and resorts division.
And just like DeMauro, he was given the top job because they thought he did such a good job in that division.
For what it's worth, in his recently published strategy for the company, DeMauro didn't say anything about raising or cutting prices at resorts, but he did say he wants to expand the experiences division, deepening engagement through more immersive experiences, whatever that means.
Absolutely, yeah.
If people come away happy, that's what Disney really care about.
Duolingo, what are they up to?
Yeah, their CEO, Louis Von An, revealed this in an interview with a podcast, The Burnouts, which was published about a month ago.
