There was historically very little private practice anyway, but the care we give is second to none.
It's a world-class institution.
And I can say the same for all the university hospitals I've worked in.
If you've got cancer, you get straight in, you get seen, it's excellent.
Where we fall down is kind of the more benign conditions, I guess.
But if you are sick, if you have cancer, if you're a kid, the care is excellent.
And I do agree that in the maternity hospitals, the public care is excellent as well once you're in the system.
I can totally see why...
And some women might get frustrated or see the public outpatient clinics, for example, as being a bit difficult because they are super busy in a public hospital.
So in that sense, it does seem like you might not be receiving the best care.
But if you're unwell, you receive super care.
It's world class.
