And I honestly thought for a second that my dad had found us.
And I was like, oh, no.
Man, this is wild.
What a day.
And a police officer walked up the stairs and he started taking my wrestling figures and I was like, this is not fair.
And then he just packed them all up and took them away and said nothing to me.
I was like, that's a strange thing.
And I realised very late in the day that those expensive gifts had come via cheap means and
I mean it when I say she did her best.
She tried her best to do everything to make me feel loved.
And a few days after that, I woke up in the middle of the night to a man in the corner of the room, the size of the room, in full traditional garb,
just looking at me with the biggest, most boomiest voice ever telling me that I had made a big mistake and it was time to go home and you need to get back there now as you are very important to your family.
Well, I just woke up screaming and my mom ran up the stairs and she seemed to have known what, what I just went through before I did.
And, uh,
It was only a few weeks after that that we ended up back in Australia.
Have you heard similar stories like that of a man, a traditional man standing in the corner of the bedroom telling people to do things like that?
Not until the last few years where I opened up to a few friends of mine, Indigenous brothers of mine, shared stories with those guys about what had happened to me.
And before I could finish, they had to tell me where they had saw that fella too.
And their life and how pivotal that moment was for them.
And all three of us are sitting around.
