The only blonde in my heart.
As soon as Damon Salvatore came into my life, I was like, oh, well.
Yeah.
Hello, and a very warm welcome to Lit Witches, the podcast for fantasy readers, writers, and all things in between.
I'm your host, Adelaide Jensen, and today I'm joined by Izzy Wero and Sinead Oosthuizen.
We'll be talking about Diabound by Sable Sorensen and the explosion of Romantasy.
Before we get too into our discussion, I wanted to start with a little icebreaker.
Who was our very first book crush?
So both of you, Cassandra Clare.
Cassandra Clare.
As soon as there was a man with dark hair, you switched allegiances and never went back.
I did.
I did.
I did.
Let's get into the main chat, shall we, about Direbound by Sable Sorensen.
That's actually a pen name for two authors, Eliza and Annie, who are both publishing insiders who originally self-published the book before it was picked up by a traditional publisher.
Direbound is a spicy romance set in a world where some humans are bonded with direwolves and fight to protect their country from siphons, who are basically vampires by another name.
And our main character, Maren Cooper, joins the army to save her sister, only to be thrown into the bonding trials where she must bond with a direwolf or die trying.
It's fourth wing meets Hunger Games meets all the things that we love and it's so completely fun and addictive.
The bulk of this chat will be spoiler free and at some point we'll be moving into an after dark segment where we get into the nitty gritty of the plot.
