Now, because I think coaches have a weird combination of great emotional intelligence, but also being really unhinged.
Can you talk a little bit about coaches and what makes them interesting people?
I've always been interested in coaches.
Yeah.
I felt the same thing.
And I may be awesome.
Yeah, he's a yeller.
And that's not to mention they have to manage the egos of these extremely talented, extremely rich young guys that must have everything going for them.
It's very difficult to manage a room like that.
line changing and putting the best team out on the ice every night so i i suspect that i mean you mentioned earlier that a lot of coaches were former players and i have a feeling that it's it tends to be the more charismatic players who become coaches you know the popular guys that are charismatic and actually have like formed really good relationships with people um
Um, but you can't say that about all hockey players, or at least you might think that on the surface, because there's always the conversation about how hockey players never show personality in your typical interview.
You know, like those like mid game interviews where they go, I'm going to dump in the puck, you know, uh, boxing deep, work hard, uh, playing a good, good goalie, blah, blah, blah.
It's all, it's all the platitudes.
They don't show their personality on purpose.
It's really hard to get notable answers from players.
Um,
But you got lots of great anecdotes from players.
The type of stuff that I'm shocked you managed to get out of them, including a player pooping his pants.
I could not believe that's a real story that somebody put out there willingly.
How did you manage to get players to open up like that?
