The Red Sox owe it to themselves to see if he can get to that ceiling.
And you're not going to know if he can get there if you're putting him in the bullpen this fast in his career.
So I would let him pitch it out in the minor leagues, try to be a starter, develop those secondaries, and then
Call them up at the end of the season if and when you need them, just like last year.
But he wasn't there when he got taken in the Rule 5 draft.
It definitely hinders the development if you don't have that guy making starts, pitching deep into outings for the full season, going on one, maybe two-inning stints, and then next year, it's like he hasn't started games for a full season.
You're going to stretch him back out, and now he's doing something he hasn't done for a year.
That's better.
If his secondaries aren't there, that's why you have him working in the minors.
You have him developing those things in that environment.
Who stayed as starters.
I need it, Rob.
Rob, it snows every time we're in the studio.
It's ridiculous.
It's either snowing or we're about to get one of those crazy snowstorms that keeps you locked inside for two days.
I love it.
Someone sign Lucas Giolito, please.
Someone's going to get a really good pitcher in Lucas Giolito for a one-year deal, and it's going to be crazy.
Hopefully it happens soon.
We see at the trade deadline every year, teams trade so much to get solid rental starting pitchers, and it's like you've got a guy who you know can be a mid-rotation guy sitting there.
