I think, like I say, the mindset was always to stay until a certain point and then it just didn't quite happen that way.

Liverpool came calling and Brendan spoke to me and saw how he saw me and what they were looking to build.

Again, it was an opportunity of a massive football club who hadn't won anything for, or not won much for, as it should have done in recent times.

I think they had a League Cup that obviously won the Champions League 10 years before that.

So it was an opportunity to go to a massive club and try and have an impact and start a period of success.

That was the dream.

It wasn't obviously going to happen.

I think we'd picked them to the league title the year before, two years before.

It wasn't a guarantee, whereas City was pretty safe.

Not intentionally, but I think it's a two-way thing and I know how I'm going to be when I go there.

I'm going to give absolutely everything to whatever club I'm playing for.

I'm going to give them everything I have every single day on and off the field.

So I think it's right.

And I suppose that's me knowing that.

They might not know that, but I think they've seen it enough over the years.

So for me, it's what's your intentions and what's the plan?

And, you know, you're saying this to get me there, but is this going to happen?

And yeah, maybe if that's the way it came across, I've never thought of it like that.
