I understand much better how everything's constructed and why they...
want me to do that again and why this, you know, and people claim that actors are very narcissistic.
I'm not going to say anything about that.
But I do think we do have to kind of protect and watch our own patch.
You know, I do my patch, you do yours.
Because filmmaking is such a collaborative experience.
So as an actor, I'd always learned to kind of
make my performances not as varied as possible, but give a lot of choice to a director.
So I always get a bit cross when they want me to do the most obvious thing.
It always kind of goes against the grain.
What, you mean in the way that you deliver a particular line?
Especially when you're not playing the lead because you've just got to shunt along that story.
You've just got to keep it going.
So I understand my function, what I'm there for.
You have more sympathy for directors.
