Sometimes I think I can be put down to certain little voids in the team or whatever.
I've been high on that all season, but in this one, Liverpool in particular looked just poorly coached at times.
We'll get on to that, but yeah, not a good game at all.
No, against Man United I had a bit more sympathy because Liverpool could actually reach the final third and it felt to me like Everton kind of deteriorated from the point of being unable to penetrate the box.
So you end up playing with it a bit too long, then you end up forcing it, you lose the ball, you get counter-attacked, you're not good at that sort of thing and you suffer from there.
But against Chelsea...
There didn't seem to be much of a plan when it came to escaping your own defensive third.
I thought we suffered a lot with that.
Lots of players carrying the ball into blind alleys and things.
And it persisted throughout the entire match.
Yeah, and post-match, Slot gets asked about it, doesn't he?
And he's a little bit spiky with his response, basically suggesting that I don't tell my players not to press or to drop off or whatever, but that's kind of what they did.
And when they do do that, one of the most frustrating things for me, when you form this kind of passive block, which is okay as a tactic, you know, Arsenal are really good in a passive block,
But the idea of being passive should not extend to the point at which you are no longer even alert, no longer concentrated, no longer focused.
You should be passive, okay?
Like, you know, you're keeping your shape, but you should be on your toes.
You should be ready to engage very quickly.
And Liverpool are passive while also being easy to play through, which is just not the plan in any walk of... That's just not how things are supposed to work, so...
Yeah, those two elements for me have been what I've been focused on since the game.
