Like this is the South.
Yeah, right.
This is what I can.
We're talking about the zeitgeist, the soup is that they're that they're existing.
And even these police officers, you know, if they go to church and as part of sermons, they're hearing.
Right.
Well, and I think it's just it's it's creating this fear.
And I think the satanic panic in particular, that that fear was even further churned by grifters, you know, like so many other capitalize off of it as well as we'll talk about because many point to the release of the 1980 book.
Michelle remembers as being the first cause for the paranoia.
Now, it was written by psychiatrist Lawrence Pazder and his patient, Michelle Smith.
And the book chronicles Dr. Pazder as he worked with Michelle through recovered memories of abuse at the hands of the Church of Satan.
The book contains some pretty wild claims, including that Michelle experienced torture, witnessed human sacrifices, and was forced to participate in rituals that included painting her face with infant blood.
And, you know, I think back to Teal Swan on A Mile Higher, this whole phenomenon of recovered memories, learning that people in your community were doing these horrible things to you as a child.
It really has a grasp on people, no matter how, even to this day, right?
Teal Swan was only a few years ago.
You know, so to have this happen in 1980 and everyone's reading about it.
And it's a book written by a psychiatrist.
Right.
It's no longer in the religious world, you know, and it's extreme.
It's not good for society.
