So we want to hone those critical reasoning skills, but kind of also give them some pointers about what to do and what not to do.
What I thought was really powerful was using some of the language from the scripts that we'd had that they used to reel young men in, and then how quickly it can change and the seductress becomes evil.
And that is exactly how it happens.
We've seen some of the criminal manifestos
And one of the key tactics once the nude imagery or videos are handed over is the tone changes immediately.
It becomes aggressive.
And one of the tactics is to isolate the young person, to use fear and shame and guilt and terminology like you saw in these scripts.
I have control.
I'm going to ruin your life if you don't pay me.
So, you know, the key message that we want people to leave with is all you need to remember is three things.
report, block,
and get support.
Obviously, you want to report either to the platform itself so that they get the signals that they can get these down.
You can report to the Australian Center for Countering Child Sexual Exploitation if you're under 18 or if you're a parent of under 18 because it becomes child sexual abuse material.
If intimate imagery or the threat to share is live, you can report to eSafety at eSafety.gov.au.
We have an image-based abuse scheme.
I have a 98% success rate in terms of getting that content taken down.
We can also do referrals onto law enforcement.
But the most important thing is to get support.
So I talked about that common tactic of is isolating a person.
