That is the best way to not have food waste.
That's the best way to have variety as well.
You know, Jessica mentioned a protein and a grain.
One of the things that I've been teaching now, I guess, for the past few years is this idea called mix and match meal prep, where you do prep like a protein, a grain, your veggies.
And then maybe another protein and another veggie or a sauce.
And you're able to mix and match those throughout the week.
And I've seen a positive response with parents with that approach just because it's kind of like setting up your own taco bar at the house.
You can put everything out and everyone can make what they want.
And there's a lot more variety that way and less food waste.
what's in there and you know here in the states we all love to make turkey stock after thanksgiving and you put it in your freezer and you're like what is that you know like months later so you need to know what it is and when it should be used up by can i add just one more thing for you hannah definitely i like to go to the store at the end of the week oftentimes they have bargain buys bargain purchases for protein and what i'll do is i'll freeze those right away whenever i get home but one thing that i've seen a lot of families do is
Season up the chicken and they'll do it in different ways and they'll put them in those freezer safe Ziploc bags and then freeze those.
Perhaps that's like a month's worth of chicken breast that's already prepped.
It's already technically marinating in that in the freezer and they'll just take it out, defrost in the fridge the night before that you're going to use it.
I've seen that as a time saver and also as a budget saver.
My final tip for you and also people like you and anyone else that has a family or not is just to keep it simple and don't overthink it.
Prepping for two days is much easier than thinking about prepping for three or five days.
When you are testing it out, you should bring your family into it.
All right, y'all, we're going to have a family vote.
