NPR has learned the man who drove his truck into a synagogue in suburban Detroit, Michigan yesterday had family members who were killed last week in Lebanon.

The attacker has been identified as Eamon Ghazali.

His two brothers died in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on March 5, according to the mayor of the Lebanese town they lived in.

The FBI says it is investigating this as a targeted attack on the Jewish community.

And former Army National Guardsmen opened fire in a classroom yesterday.
