Agree. Food is culture and culture is life, right? What are we on this planet for if not to enjoy things? But you can also have the other end of the spectrum where we're telling really important stories in food about food security, the health of our soil, regenerative farming. All of these things are really important issues that affect all of us and not just the enjoyable side of food. But I do think that's really important because we've got to have enjoyable parts of our life as well, right?
Yeah, that's my advice to any students. I do sort of a food writing class in London every year. And my biggest thing is consume, you know, read, look at amazing food videos, buy a nice food magazine. And that will also help you find your voice if you're consuming other people's. You get to see what you like, what you don't like and sort of where you fit in amongst that. So yeah, be hungry for good food content and you'll find your voice.
I also think building community is really important as well. You can DM your favorite food writer, you can like somebody's post, you can comment and you can chat to all these incredible people that you didn't have access to 10 years ago. I think that's a really special thing. So being part of the community that you want to speak to is a really good tip, I think. So if you admire a particular food writer, drop them a line and ask them for their advice and you might be surprised they'll give it to you.
