This is not about, this discussion I recognise is difficult.

It's not about individuals and it certainly isn't about saying, you know, get out of the way or anything like that.

On the contrary, I think it's about us coming together as a society to take care of all the parts of our society in a way that's respectful of every age and that gives us more choice and

And I know from the responses I've had to my book that there are many elderly Australians who feel like that's right, we just need to be realistic about this, live with compassion with each other and also look at the practical things we can do for the future.

And perhaps this conversation can help us start talking about how do we find that joy and that meaning in life?
