Peter didn't have to do much convincing to tell me how great of a place it was to live in Kansas City and how my dollar went further than New York.
It was one of my favorite parts about being in the locker room and being a local guy.
watching a guy come in from a foreign country, whether it was Europe or South America or Central America, watching them come in and be unsure about Kansas City and know nothing about our city, and slowly over time, three months, six months, nine months, a year, and all of a sudden, it happens every single time.
They look around and say, I love this place.
Man, I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do.
I mean, I'm telling you, the amount of times it happened, it was almost just like clockwork.
But so, so one of the things that we used to emphasize in the locker room, at least was to everybody, not just the Kansas city guys, but the foreign guys too, but put yourself out there.
Like I promise you, this is an inviting city.
They're not going to bite, but you got it.
And so sometimes I feel like some of the guys come in and they don't open up or they just kind of keep to themselves.
Kansas City is a place where if you show your personality and you open up and invite them in, it's very welcoming.
And I think that was one of the things I love seeing on the, on the teams that I was on is you got these guys come in and knowing nothing about Kansas city, but they were going to the plaza art fair and they were trying the American Royal barbecue and they were just experiencing the city and meeting people and putting themselves out there in the public eye.
