They tried to charge me a late fee that I explicitly told them I wasn't paying because I had to wait a month for them to fix a light bulb. So I was like, well, I mean, you aren't holding up your end of the contract. There's no reason I should have to either. And here's the thing. If they had been like, hey, you know, can you pay us the late fee after you move out? I would honestly have done it.

I'd been like, you know what, just to wrap everything up, sure. But instead, they have fought me for months to try and get me to pay this money. which even after the rent is $1,500 in move-out expenses. And you know what I found out?

$1,000 of that was carpet replacement, which not only is that considered routine maintenance, and I have proof of this in that when I moved out of my previous apartment, they did not charge me for carpet replacement, even though Ella tore one of them up. Ella did tear up a part of one one of the carpets in that apartment. There were two separate carpets in that apartment.

They charged me for the replacement of both, even though only one was damaged. They could provide no proof that the second one was damaged. They could provide no proof that it had to be replaced for any reason. And when I was on the phone with them, they just kind of like explained it away. I.

And then when I wrote to them expressing all of these problems, rather than writing back, they told me they were going to call collections. So I if you live in the southeastern Pennsylvania area and you are considering a Scully management owned property, don't. Because they're bad people like I mean, even by corporate landlord standards, these guys suck.

Also, the one thing that really gets me is the property manager who, despite the fact that she gains absolutely nothing from trying to force me to pay this money and makes an enemy of somebody who still lives in the community... Keep in mind, a business owner in the community who is probably not somebody you want to piss off. But she gains nothing from this. She's an employee.

She doesn't get a bonus. She doesn't get a cut. If she does get a cut of whatever the move out fees are, that's illegal because she's just going to write stuff up to get it. Now, granted, it is partially on me for not insisting that I be present during the inspection. But I just wanted out of there by that point. And I was like, I have a security deposit. That'll cover it.

And then they just chalked up all these different random charges. So this is my official de-endorsement of anything Scully Management Company owned. Because not even, like, just for your own good. You know, we make sure to advertise products we think are good. This is me telling you, be careful. These people are predators.

I am an angie boy. I will be leaving, now that they've gone to the step of telling me they're calling collections, I am going to be leaving just the most scathing of Google reviews. Yeah.
