Yeah, well, again, I point to Daphne du Maurier.
I mean, so many of her stories.
And she brings such a light touch to it.
But when you think so many of her stories set back in history, usually Cornwall is the backdrop.
So you get the landscape, you get the history, and again, you get the dark edges.
Because one of the greatest crime novels ever written is Rebecca.
Yeah.
But most people, it's usually put into the romantic section.
But of course, Max de Winter killed Rebecca.
He shot her.
So it was a great crime story, but so brilliantly done.
And when you think 30, it was written, I think, in the 30s.
And Freud, after all, had hardly invented psychology at that point.
It had only been going for about 30 years or so.
And really the insight that Daphne brought to the character of Rebecca, because that woman dominates the book, even though she's dead.
She's the strongest character.
She absolutely influences the lives of those still living and still continues to influence them, even in death.
Wonderful characterisation, wonderful insight, great psychology and dark.
I do like the dark side.
