It feels like Anthropic has a situation where

They get benefits for calling for a slowdown.

They're seen as the safer, moral, ethical lab.

at a moment that they know there is no option for a slowdown, right?

So they don't lose either way.

I can't imagine a world in which the government is going to slow down with China not agreeing.

We didn't see these kind of relationship agreements coming out of the summit last month.

So I think, yeah, let's slow down.

It's the right thing to do, knowing full well that, you know, full steam ahead.

I can't imagine the pressure these guys are under.

Good negotiating position to start with.
