Teams think they can turn them into 80, 85 points.
It's a win-win for them.
But, man, he's been at 50 points two years in a row.
That's tough to stop.
But the onus is on him, and I love what Henrik said yesterday.
The onus is on him to figure it out, not everybody else in the world.
No, he needs to act like and compete like an elite player with that salary.
That's what he needs to do.
Okay, so I checked in earlier this week.
The Canucks have not yet started talks with the UFAs, Teddy Bluger and Curtis Douglas.
From what I've been told, everyone in the organization is a fan of Douglas's.
Now, the old regime was a fan of his, but does that again, like, we're changing regimes.
So does the new regime think of Douglas the same way?
Douglas' contract is not hard to do.
He's only played 43 games in the NHL, guys.
So with so many teams looking for toughness, if he doesn't cut the deal in Vancouver, he's going to be fine on July 1st.
Now, if the Canucks don't re-sign Douglas and say, well, let's go to July 1st to get toughness, well, that market's going to be expensive.
I told you guys a few weeks ago the Canucks like Michael McCarron.
But, boy, oh, boy, the numbers I'm hearing on him, if there's a bidding war for McCarron, he played a little higher up in the lineup.
I don't know if you guys noticed.
