And we end up with that constantly.
But then what's happening is everyone's rolling their sleeves up and mucking in because it's going in the right direction.
And I, you know, as I say, I think that 21-22 is the best, I think it is the best squad Liverpool ever had.
And it was my favourite of the sides.
And I understand why a couple of people aren't as fond of it as I am, not least because it doesn't go on and win either of the big two.
But it felt all the way through that campaign, they had almost any result in them at any time.
But it's worth saying that you thought you had it all with them.
And then all of a sudden, as I say, six months later, not even six months, three months, four months later, it felt as though it had really gone backwards.
I think where you're ending up here is, and I want to be really clear, I think he's one of your favourite ever Liverpool players.
I think he has the best calendar year any Liverpool footballer's ever had.
But the argument is, can we just go and buy two Sadio Mane's?
yeah and we're not asking to buy a mo salah and there's not much between sadio money and mo salah and if we were to get to sadio man is then it'll be an unbelievable nick but gordon's an interesting little comparison deemed that from the outside to be a bit streaky a bit mercurial played for a upwardly mobile side which is what southampton were when money was there um scored some goals in big games which man i had done but you were sort of wondering about it but had a real sense of fight about him but that sometimes got him in trouble but golden similar there's red cards
blotting that copy book as well now that's not to say that Gordon could come in and be as good as Mane I think that that might be a bridge too far but almost take Mane 2019 out and imagine all the other Mane can we go and get two of them if you see not the Mane that is genuinely the footballer I think has the greatest county year of anyone ever in the greatest team
calendar year anyone ever had which is Liverpool in 2019 he was Liverpool's best player in 2019 and Liverpool have the best year any football team ever had in terms of performance and results as far as I'm concerned the best one so that's Sadio but the other Sadio Mane's were a teeny little bit blotchier a teeny little bit streakier he really suffers when Salah first arrives and he can't quite get himself bedded in he was not a perfect footballer but what he had was an unbelievable amount of courage and determination and focus to align with his quality
And if you could get a couple of them in wide areas, this is all obviously far easier said than done.
There'll be people listening to this screaming at it going, well, of course, that's what you always want from all footballers.
But I think that's what we're looking at.
Because I don't think it needs to be the third highest Liverpool goal scorer of all time and a lad who's going to get 44 in his first season for you and who's going to be the best number nine, the best winger and the best number 10.
That's what it doesn't need to be.
It almost needs someone who's going to come in and just simply...
