Social media average Joes versus big money players.

It was like a real down in the dumps video game shop.

And it was like on its last legs.

Its share price was really in the dumps.

And everyone on Reddit jumped on this bandwagon to buy it and boost its share price.

And it was wild.

It went from $20 to over $500 in a matter of days.

Like people made bank on that share price.

Yeah.

And that was the reason, right, was that all these hedge funds were short.

So they benefit when the share price goes down.

But-

Yeah, the hedge funds were betting on it doing worse.

And then that's why the Reddit people jumped on the bad wig and they were like...

F the institution, we're going to F over these hedge funds by increasing the share price.

And then that just means that the hedge funds are like making losses and huge losses because they are betting it goes down.

Yeah.

And when it goes up, you're like, you're screwed.

Yeah.

But the reason we're talking about this is that GameStock, which was literally in the toilet a few years ago, has just made a takeover offer for eBay.
