17 Dec 2024
(00:00-24:20) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the NFL playoff scenario for the Indianapolis Colts. They examine what making the playoffs would do for the Colts and lay out why fans should not be surprised if the Colts don’t fire Chris Ballard. (24:20-34:30) – After examining the Colts playoff outlook, Jake and Jimmy take a step back and examine the rest of the NFL. They look at both conferences and list a couple of teams that nobody is talking about because everyone has been so focused on the Chiefs, Bills, and Lions as the Super Bowl front runners. (34:30-47:57) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake and Jimmy discussing a series of tweets/posts from Zaire Franklin on Twitter/X regarding his Pro Bowl candidacy two days after a loss that nearly eliminates the Colts from the playoffs. (47:57-1:13:52) – ESPN.com’s Stephen Holder makes his weekly visit on Query & Company with Jake and Jimmy to weigh in on the conversation from the previous segment about Zaire Franklin. Also, he states that Shane Steichen has shown his youthfulness as a head coach this season, admits that he has no idea if you can properly evaluate Anthony Richardson this season because his supporting cast has let him down this season, and explains why Jim Irsay could feel compelled to keep Chris Ballard for another season. (1:13:52-1:29:53) – Scott Agness from Fieldhouse Files joins the program to provide his take on toasting Pop-Tarts. Also, he examines the upcoming road trip for the Indiana Pacers, assesses if Andrew Nembhard is slowly replacing Buddy Hield as Tyrese Haliburton’s running mate, and provides an update on Aaron Nesmith and Ben Sheppard. (1:29:53-1:35:19) – Hour two of the program concludes with Jake and Jimmy trying to dive more into the Eddie’s brain with him revealing at the end of last segment that he doesn’t eat cold pizza. (1:35:19-2:00:14) – WTHR’s Dave Calabro joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook to discuss his broadcasting career with this being the final week of him being a sportscaster. He shares some of the stories that always come to mind when he’s asked what story his favorite is, has a message for young broadcasters that have an interest in going into radio or television, provides a shout out to the photographers and producers that he’s worked with over the years, and previews his final sportscast. (2:00:14-2:10:21) – Last night it was announced that one of the first identical twins in the NBA passed away in Dick Van Arsdale. Jake shares his upbringing, backstory, and his ties to the city and the level of influence he’s on how basketball is played today. (2:10:21-2:23:29) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day and the guys discussing the Frisco Bowl game tonight between Memphis and West Virginia.
