Tourism future, sidehustles, staff culture and strategic planning with MDA Group Director Tak Mutu

24 Jan 2022

Description

In this podcast we chat about managing staff during a crisis, what the future of tourism may hold and strategic planning for your startup plus a whole bunch of other topics including the developing a whanau (family) orientated work culture. We recoded this episode just before Christmas 2021... We managed to chat with a good friend of ours Tak Mutu about all the above and more. Tak is the Director of the MDA Group, MDA Group is owned and operated by brothers Takurua (Tak) and Tuhua Mutu. First started in 1989 (then named Priceless Experiences) by one of the forefathers of the modern day adventure industry, Kim Price, MDA Group has accumulated a depth of knowledge and experience that have lead it to become and industry leader in tourism and pioneers in business development. The MDA Experiences whanau (family) is one that was born from an ethos of ensuring that every experience is always about the people first. Our crew of professional and personable people carry on the traditional beliefs of Maori such as Manaakitanga (caring for those around us), Kaitiakitanga (caring for world around us) and Whanaungatanga (creating lasting relationships with those we bring in to our lives). Our strong focus on Maori culture and putting the people first has seen the MDA Group grow in to the preferred choice for those seeking bespoke, professional and genuine services.
