A modern folktale which takes place in a parallel-universe New York City; mysterious lunar women are hypnotized by the moon's influence and converge at the edge of the city to undertake a clandestine task for the satellite. First written in 1968 and originally published with the rest of his cosmic tales in Le cosmicomiche (The Cosmicomics); it was translated much later in 2009 and republished in The New Yorker.
