Rafah camp strike, Papua New Guinea landslide and elephant greetings

Tue, 28 May 2024

Description

An Israeli airstrike has triggered a fire that has killed 45 people in a tent camp in the Gazan city of Rafah, prompting an outcry from global leaders. Thousands of residents have been ordered to evacuate from the path of a still-active landslide in Papua New Guinea, after parts of a mountain collapsed with more than 2,000 people buried. A study of African savannah elephants shows how their greetings to each other can be as complex as humans. Also, closing arguments are due to take place in Donald Trump's criminal trial.
