There's a graph here with percentile global income distribution 2008 on the x-axis and income per person on the y-axis.
The line drawn on this stays really close to zero until you get to about the 50th percentile, then it starts to gradually increase, and then it zips up right at the end.
It looks like around 50% of the area under the curve is found on the 90th percentile and above.
