Several months after my father was murdered, we had one of our horses get into the pond. This is wintertime, cold water. He couldn't get out. So I rushed home and my buddy came and helped me. I went to go look for a toe strap that my dad and I used the weekend prior to his murder. Big yellow nylon toe strap. We use it to drag logs and boulders and stuff around with the RTV.
I couldn't find that tow strap anywhere. I searched the entire property. It's missing. Gone. That right there is when I knew what she used to get him to the burn pile. She used that to drive him there.
We got a patient here who's fallen upstairs and I don't have a pulse and she's cold and I don't know what time this happened.
Oh yes, our whole family's here.
I'm innocent. I feel very confident that I will be acquitted.
Your Honor, I have nothing but sympathy and I feel nothing but empathy for the Coffin family and their loss. However, I've maintained my innocence throughout this, and I still maintain my innocence. Thank you.
Oh, basically, you know, I said, look, okay, you've scolded her enough, just leave her alone and continue your life. You think about Penny, there's lots of girls at Ohio State campus.
We could probably take some of the blame, right? But here they're trying to say that it's not their fault at all. What kind of bull crap is that?
I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and I got mad and I lost my temper.
Very shy. Very quiet. you know, really odd, really, you know, unorthodox sense of humor that I just found hilarious.
Oh, shock. Of course. You know, it's just all this world shock. It's just unbelievable.
She would leave for weeks at a time, and then thousands of dollars would be spent out of the account.
She comes out of the house with a plate in her hand and she's screaming and cussing. She throws the plate up against the wall of the house and shatters it all into pieces. And she says, I can't wait till that man's dead. I can't wait till I don't have to live with him anymore.
Did you murder your father? I absolutely did not murder my father. I love my father. He was the backbone.
Because of my size and the size of my father, yes, I was going to be looked at like that. But I had nothing to do with it.
Did you see your mom sitting in court? Yes, sir. And Scott. I mean, she always, you know, talked bad about my dad. It's like she always tried to brainwash us, like he was, you know, such a horrible person.
It was brought to my attention by my sister and my mother that my father was missing. He wasn't the healthiest man. He had high blood pressure. He smoked a lot. We were all thinking he might have had a heart attack. We decided to start searching the property. I started checking all the pastures.
Because we got justice from my father. We fought six years to get answers. My father loved my mother. He fought for my mother. He was a very loving father.
We couldn't find him. Something's really off here.
Oh, I was furiated. She did her last final jabs. That shows you what she was like. One last turn of the knife. One last turn to make somebody's life a living hell because it didn't go her way.
My dad did talk about he was going to burn that stuff on that pile. I looked down, and immediately I could start seeing bones. I squatted down, and I'm like, those are human remains. I'm calling 911 right now.
Because I absolutely had nothing to do with my father's death. It was 100% Melody Ferris who murdered my father. That is the truth. Why do you think she accused you of killing your father? Because I was an easy target. I lived on the property. I'm a former military.
My dad actually made comments to me saying, hey, leave some work for me, you know, because he wasn't there during the week. He's like, well, don't cut the pasture yet. Let me do it.
I did not do it. She knows she did it. She needs to stop with the lies. Just come clean. Stop trying to ruin all of our lives because it didn't work out for you. I still haven't been able to figure out why she would do this. I don't know if I ever will.
I never thought such a tragic thing would happen there.
When I pulled in the driveway, you could look off in the direction where the burn pile was, and you could see it was burning. A burn pile, typically a dumping spot for yard waste and brush. My dad did talk about he was going to burn that stuff on that pile.
And I said, where'd you find that? And she said, well, it's in the console of his car. And I found that very, very odd because my dad never left his wallet in his car.
My father did not do that. He was a one woman type of man and he married that woman. He was not that kind of man.
She thought she was smart enough to hide it from everybody, but we all found out, we all knew.
This whole Ferris wheel turn, none of us really like it. But if you want to know who the motor was of turning that Ferris wheel, it was Melody Ferris. She always stirred up drama. Always.
Keep going. Keep going. Okay. I'm going to get this way.
Her neck had a pretty pronounced ligature mark. The question is, how was she strangled?
They had a couple of dogs, rescues. Mary Kate saw the dogs pulling on the scarf.
The jurors have indicated that they breached a verdict in this matter.
It's at Tallaga in San Clemente.
We got a patient here who's fallen off stairs and I don't have a pulse and she's cold.
They found her down at the bottom of the stairs? Yeah, partially on the stairs.
Looks like her shoe come off or something.
