There is no breakdown of your fat to muscle ratio. And so that's a much more important perspective than just some magic number. And a lot of my patients have a magic number. If I'm just 125 pounds again, I'll be happy. Right. So, well, 120 pounds, 120 pounds of fat is very different from 125 pounds of muscle.

Yeah. So I think, you know, let's like obviously like kiwi, any kind of the other fruits are going to be really important in terms of antioxidants. Edamame, we can kind of clump with a legume since it is a legume. We know that plant-based proteins make a big difference. And we also know that edamame in particular has isoflavones, which may play a role in reducing fatty liver disease.

The dark chocolate, I think, is a big one. So For my patients, I'm going with either like a raw cacao that they can put in smoothies or things like that, or just going with something like a 74% or greater. It's hard to get a good tasting chocolate that doesn't have some sugar in it. So again, getting ones that have a little less sugar, better quality, that always can make a big difference.

Green tea has components in green tea, like looking at the actual compounds that we have in green tea that we know reduces inflammation levels. So there's an association there. Extra virgin olive oil, there's been independent studies looking at extra virgin olive oil and, again, reducing fibrosis so that inflammatory markers that occur within the liver decrease.

Poultry and wild fish as just two great options, again, in terms of lean sources of protein. Not everyone wants to go completely plant-based. So I would say those are wonderful sources. And we've got the data. All of this is backed by evidence.

And then nuts and seeds, you know, really just an option as another way to get more monounsaturated and healthy polyunsaturated foods into your diet as well. So again... Studies with all of these, they're all real food, but they're all things that can kind of help us from a multi-organ capacity, which ultimately helps the liver as well.

Yeah, so it depends on the patient, really. I mean, you and I were talking a little earlier today, and I think I can't remember if you use this word or not, but we were talking a lot about finding a person's why. And that's where I start every single appointment. Someone will come in and say, well, I'm here because I want to lose 40 pounds. Okay, great. Let's table that for a moment.
