Did we ever get that definition of libertarianism?
I was really listening for it.
I think something that really stood out was just while Jillian and I looking into this episode, just how diverse libertarians are. And I think a good example of that is the fact that some people feel RFK is within the libertarian camp. And most libertarians also think that Ross Ulbricht is in the camp.
So one person, you know, for legalizing drugs and the other for banning like red dye number three, you know? Yeah.
100%.
You appreciated the accent.
I'm sure he'll love that impression.
I guess there's not too much sun damage in the UK to be done.
I know looking into this episode, something that really sat with me was the European Commission chief's comments. I'm currently having countless talks with heads of state and government around the world who want to work together with us on the new order. Everyone is asking for more trade with Europe. And it's not just about economic ties. You know, Lord, it's different time now.
We did it, guys. We're like the Spider-Man meme.
I think I have some bad news because I was reading that one of the reasons he's claiming he's leaving government is the nasty and unethical attacks from the left. So that might be why. Oh. You're on read.
Do it.
Yeah. I mean, I was a working journalist who didn't go to J school, so I might be a bit biased.
But I will say that with the changing media landscape, I would just urge people who do invest in a program to make sure it's forward thinking and thinking about the new technologies and the ways you make a living now as a working journalist, how to be a freelancer, those more practical forward thinking things.
Well, something that you all were talking about that really resonated with me was just the lack of vision for all of these policies. And it reminded me of the MAGA motto, which you never really determined when we were trying to revert America back to. And it's kind of the same with this economic vision.
And something that we were looking into prior to this conversation was just all the justifications Trump has given for the tariffs. And it goes from to balance trade and spur US manufacturing, to stop illegal immigration, to stop the flow of fentanyl, to balance the budget. How can it be all of these things? What is the actual vision?
Take me there. That's exactly why I can't get a pet because I'll never go anywhere again. You won't.
I know. I was going to say, I feel like you have a fear of not having canceled. You would definitely like to be at home.
You can always call them, but I don't think you are taking into consideration necessarily how many people you talk to. You talk to a lot of people.
You need to recharge.
Yeah, I wonder what someone like him does with so much free time. Yeah, he's got to find something to do, right?
I mean, 9-11 I think was the moment. Feels pretty tumultuous.
I think like just – Branching off Jillian's point, 9-11 I think became political for me because it wasn't explained in the same way Brittany is describing. Like we were maybe too young. And so I was watching the news with my family every night. And that was the switch. That was like, I need to know what this was. Yeah.
But you expect chaos maybe.
Exactly.
As you always say.
All right.
I didn't go in so confident, so I'm more confident now. And the reason why, I wanted to give a little snippet of why I wasn't very confident. So in preparation for this conversation, been looking at what the Democrats have been discussing as their strategy.
And one thing I noticed that Dems have been using, and I don't know baseball very well, but this seems contradictory, which is that Jeffries has been out there saying that Aaron Judge is his favorite because he does not swing at every pitch, right?
Yet Chris Murphy of Connecticut says, right now you have to swing at every pitch. Uh-oh. So it seems like there might be some disagreement among Democrats right now about the strategy.
