It was really fun to skate with someone who's obviously a more fluid and soft style than my partner had been. But it didn't feel like I had the cognizant thought, I'm skating with a female, so I must change for a female. It was just another person that I was learning to skate with.

Skating has been most of my life and it's a big love of mine and sharing it with somebody else that I'm close with and care about was a big motivator and I see a lot of young women who want to pursue ice dancing in a certain way and there's not that many young boys or men who are competing.
