And I just think as we get into a possible future, as we're talking about, because Neon Mara says, Windows 8 was made for tablets. Xbox OS could be that, right? Because we're so talking about Xbox OS now. being able to take over a Raja ally and how amazing that would be.

As we're talking about Paris hypothesizing that the next Xbox would be, yes, we're making Xbox games, but it also boots other systems, which I assume means fucking steam and whatever league and blizzard and all of sort of whatever you get to that. Like at that point,

two exclusives a year from PlayStation, that's going to speak to us, the hardest of hardcore gamers, but not the general public, where they can look at it and be like, I can get Game Pass and Unlimited Games and all this stuff and have one box that does pretty much everything?

And see, I don't think you're wrong, but I think it's short-term versus long-term. I think short-term that would work for them and make a really interesting case. But here's the problem is that PlayStation's Achilles heel is that they are owned by Sony.

They have a parent company, and they have a board of shareholders. They have people breathing on their necks. And so somebody said it earlier, and it was in the public chat. It went by, but it was the conversation of consoles are never going to go away. They're just going to become more niche. And I assure you, niche is not what Sony wants.

If Sony sees the PlayStation brand as a console maker and as a profit margin getting smaller and smaller and smaller, they are going to pull the fucking plug on being exclusive. They're going to pull the plug on losing money on hardware. They're going to pull the plug on being exclusive as they put those games everywhere. We've lost that. We need that money.

That's just how all of these corporations and businesses work. I think Nintendo gets around it because they're Nintendo, and they are the kind of company that is, oh, we did better. Here's more money for our employees.

Since he became the head of Xbox in 2014, it seems like he's been more destructive than good. This is a conversation that we had when there was the round of studio closures and layoffs when Hi-Fi Rush's developer went away and all that. Of like, what is Phil's legacy and blah, blah, blah.

I think to, has Phil been a good thing for Xbox? Yes. If they hadn't changed course and put Phil in, I don't think Xbox would be here right now. Period.

I just think when you look back at the launch of the Xbox One, Don Matrick, the way he was running the company, this isn't a knock against that man who I don't know, but I just mean the choices that were made there and it's not going to play used games. No. That was the wrong call. Maybe it was too ahead of its time in terms of a primary unit and your Xbox account being in the cloud and stuff.
