And the first thing that you will get when you do a survey is people telling you how bad your survey is, no matter how good it is. So you can't win, but hopefully you can do a few things. How do you do this? The first thing you need to figure out is what do you want to know?

That will help you make better questions right away. So once you know what you want, you need to figure out the best way to ask the question to elicit the data you desire. then you have to carefully craft that question to avoid biases or skewing the data in some way.
