Zuerst einmal gibt es das Wetter und die Location von Griechenland. 80 Prozent der Insel ist von Eis gefüllt. Die meisten der Minelokationen sind über dem arktischen Kreis. Und das Schiffen in Griechenland ist schrecklich, weil der Eis auf der Küste fließt. So getting to the mines and getting to the minerals is logistically very difficult.
But another thing that kind of sets Greenland back is that, for example, Canada and Alaska have a tradition of local companies doing exploration of the underground. So that means if you come in as an investor, you kind of know what you're buying. Greenland doesn't have a history of local companies doing exploration. So if you invest in mining in Greenland, you run a greater risk.

China produziert rund 60 Prozent der weltweit geminten Rar-Earth-Mineralien. Aber es kontrolliert die gesamte Nutzungsschiene auf einen noch größeren Niveau.
Es kontrolliert etwa 90 Prozent der Refinerieaktivität und noch mehr, etwa 94 Prozent der Produktion von Magneten, was die Hauptstelle ist, für die diese Rar-Earths verwendet werden. So getting access to rare earths in Greenland could help the West break this dominance that China wields over rare earths globally.
