In this episode, I chat with Dr Leo Lam, an electrical engineer with a PhD in mathematical modelling, who amongst many other talents, designs anaesthesia infusion pumps. We discuss N95s from the perspective of a physical scientist and engineer. We have come a long way from 2020 when we first learnt about respiratory protection! We discuss PAPRs (powered air purifying respirators), fit-testing, PPE buddies, using a HAZMAT approach in hospitals and more in earlier episodes of the Australian Anaesthesia podcast.
