The COVID-19 epidemic has had severe health and economic implications, causing enormous disruptions in people's lives, the worldwide economy, and global trade. Because of its quick spread, a clear assessment of the economic consequences of the COVID-19 situation is not only desirable but also difficult if the goal is to reduce uncertainty. Arif Rachmat, Executive Director of Triputra Group and Chair of the B20 Trade and Investment Task Force, seeks to build support for greater inclusiveness and sustainability in the global supply and value chain. Trade and investment should be major forces for more environmentally friendly, long-term prosperity.
