His presence is now accepted as essential to the journey. Gandalf - A powerful wizard and key strategist. After disappearing earlier, he returns with grave knowledge of the Ring’s origin and Sauron’s movements. He explains the history and warns of the stakes involved. Merry Brandybuck - Clever and practical. Close friend of Frodo and cousin. More mature and observant than Pippin, often the first to sense danger or think tactically. Gollum - Once a bearer of the Ring, corrupted and obsessed with it. Captured and interrogated by Elves, later escaped. His fate deeply concerns Gandalf and others. Pippin Took - Youngest of the hobbits, curious and impulsive. His youthful energy and naivety contrast with the others, though he’s loyal and growing through the journey. Saruman the White - Head of the wizards. Wise but proud and obsessed with power, knows all about magic rings Sauron the Great - Dark Lord and maker of the Ring. Regaining strength in Mordor. Seeks the Ring again Aragorn - Strider. Heir of Isildur and wielder of the broken sword Narsil. A capable ranger and leader with deep knowledge of the enemy. Respected but feared by some due to his lineage. Elrond - Lord of Rivendell. Wise and ancient, hosts the Council. Reveals the deep history of the Ring and helps guide the decision to destroy it. Arwen - Elrond’s daughter, Half-elven. Graceful and wise, betrothed to Aragorn. Though her role in the Council is minimal, she symbolizes the Elves’ connection to Men. Gimli - A sturdy Dwarf warrior, son of Glóin. Initially skeptical of Elves but fierce in loyalty. Represents the Dwarves at the Council and is eager for action. Legolas - Elven prince of Mirkwood. Speaks on behalf of his father, brings news of Gollum’s escape. Agile, perceptive, and calm in demeanor, he soon joins the Fellowship. Boromir - Son of the Steward of Gondor. Proud and valiant but wary of the Ring’s influence. Attends the Council seeking aid and dreams of using the Ring for Gondor’s defense.
