Eating disorders are a type of mental illness that stem from some sort of trauma no matter how big or small and in this episode I wanted to ask Lisa how we can help those that we love overcome their illness and support them in regaining their love of themselves and food. Food is mood and has such an impact on our long-term wellness but as with any mental illness addressing the issue should be done in a sensitive and delicate way. In this episode we discuss the following topics:Lisa's personal journey with her relationship with foodThe deeper cause of eating disorders and why they happen How Lisa turned her relationship with food around Signs that we should be looking out for that would indicate someone needs support or help How to talk to someone who has an eating disorder about getting help Diet culture and diets Do eating disorders ever go away The mirror critic/self criticism and self destruction To find out more about Lisa you can check out her website at www.lisaunger.co.uk or follow her on Instagram www.instagram.com/_lisaungerShe also has a free e-book that you can download here: The Hunger Within: Finding peace and freedom from emotional eatinghttps://mailchi.mp/053d4f1e8a88/gpsx4vzobeThis episode is hosted by Georgia Symonds and produced by Maisie Peppitt Hosted on Acast.
