Coach Brendan Suhr is joined by the Head Coach of the Texas A&M Women’s Basketball Team, Gary Blair. Coach Blair is a Hall of Famer who is entering his 47th year of coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels. The self-proclaimed “late bloomer” got his start in coaching by accident at the age of 27 as he coached 4 sports in high school after being in the US Marine Corps. In this podcast, Coach Blair talks about his early years, transitioning into college basketball, his playing style and why he likes using set plays on offense, how he and his staff changed the culture at Texas A&M, the challenges of coaching great players, the importance of hiring well as a head coach and the blueprint his 2011 National Title team left for college basketball teams in the women’s game.
