Democrats are considering making a call for broad pardons before President Joe Biden leaves office. This follows Biden’s recent pardon of his son Hunter Biden for all possible crimes, going back more than a decade. And with the incoming Trump administration promising large-scale criminal investigations, many are now wondering whether similar pardons should be granted to others—although there are still debates over whether this could be helpful, or whether it could cause more harm than good.
