A recent focal point of this shift has been on an American Eagle ad featuring actress Sydney Sweeney. Despite online criticism, the company refused to back away from its advertisement, and now even President Donald Trump has weighed in.Even officials who used to come out strongly in support of defunding the police, or who made statements criticizing the police, are now changing their narratives.
