Alex Sims is an Associate Professor at the University of Auckland’s Department of Commercial Law, which is part of the University of Auckland’s Business School. Before switching her research focus to blockchain technology, her research was primarily based on intellectual property law and consumer law. She is considered a world-class expert on DAOs, NFTs, cryptocurrency regulation and legal issues surrounding smart contracts. Amongst other things, Alex is a member of the executive council of BlockchainNZ. Alex has also become well known as a communicator on blockchain technologies, and she is featured regularly on TV, radio and print media on issues relating to blockchain and various legal matters.
