The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and The BS In Holistic Dentistry

04 Jul 2023

Description

Holistic dentistry has some amazing science-backed protocols and approaches to oral health and dental treatments. In this show, Dr Rachel Hall exposes the not-so-pretty side of holistic dentistry, from the ugly to the downright dangerous and concerning new techniques and modalities that could cost you your health and your teeth. One such treatment is jaw expansion without surgery for adults with devices called FAGGA or AGGA - anterior growth guidance appliances.  The Dental Zone dares to highlight this dastardly trend in adult 'braces' that makes claims to improve your airway and tmj issues with no scientific backing. www.holisticdentistry.au www.evolvedental.com.au   The good, the bad and ugly and the outright bullshit of holistic dentistry. Has holistic dentist Dr Rachel Hall gone rogue?  In this show the unscientific and damn right crazy claims and treatments that are creeping into dentistry under the holistic flag get exposed. The first one being the total hoax and dangerous claims that adults can achieve jaw expansion without surgery. There is a growing trend of dental appliances called AGGA and FAGGA that claim that you can increase the size of adult jaws to improve airway function, facial shape, bite issues and more. Holistic dentists are jumping on board and many patients are ending up facing serious consequences and dental harm. Currently, there is a class action being brought in the USA against the person who came up with the 'treatment' and many dentists are now facing malpractice claims.
