Cyd and David discuss removing the break room from salons. Does this mean hairdressers should be working non-stop with no breaks? No! Quite the opposite. If your team doesn't have clients instead of everyone gathering in the small corner, or closet, hairdressers should have the freedom to leave the salon.  Having access to unlimited time-off gives hairdressers the time to recharge between clients through out the day, resulting in happier hairdressers.  The outdated beliefs of you having to “do more” and “work harder” to make more money can leave your team tired, burnt out and resentful. It’s exhausting you as the business owner as well. All of the effort and energy you’re putting into micromanaging your team, is eating away at your own passion. This can inhibit your ability to see the larger picture and prevent you from making an impact in your business.
