T1D Tech Trends: VIVI Smart and what we’re watching at the Consumer Electronics Show

07 Jan 2025

Description

Every January the Consumer Electronics Show gives us a glimpse at what technology might be coming. This show used to be full of phones and TV screens, but more and more CES is featuring health care. We’re taking a deep dive into one of the innovations on display - VIVI Smart - which aims to make multiple daily injections easier. Plus, other diabetes tech from the show that we think we’ll actually be using.. and some that may be more wishful thinking. My guest this week is Ron Nagar, the founder and CEO of TempraMed, the company that makes the VIVI Cap. I’ve talked about this product before, and we’ve used it with success.. Ron will talk about what’s new here.  I think this is a great and really interesting trend to make MDI easier and more automated. Most people around the world do not use insulin pumps and while I’m grateful for the automation of the AID systems – it’s really important that companies continue to serve the entire diabetes population. This podcast is not intended as medical advice. If you have those kinds of questions, please contact your health care provider. Disclosure: Tempramed has donated a VIVI Cap for our Moms' Night Out and is an affiliate sponsor of the podcast.  Join us at an upcoming Moms' Night Out event!
