Ketones are really interesting for the brain. A big part of why you already make ketones is because your brain uses a ton of ketones. And when you have a concussion, you get hit in the head, you interfere with your brain's ability to do metabolism, to basically generate oxygen, because you have broken blood vessels and stuff.
