Patience Is Not A Choice But A Necessity Do you enjoy being patient? Many of us don’t. What is it about waiting that you don't like? The Greek word for patience is makrothymia, which means to tolerate, endure, and long-suffering. People do not like being patient because they do not want to suffer long. Is this what patience is all about? It is not! Patience is learning to endure because everything has a proper time and procedure. This is why I often say respect the process. God wants us to be patient because it protects us from the consequences of wrong decisions. Rushing often leads to mistakes, which not only cause us pain but requires time and money to correct.  Waiting is not a show of weakness but rather an active understanding of what the Lord wants us to do so that we can accomplish the plans He has made for us.
