You Cannot Inherit Eternal Life.

This message will shock you, but before you get turned off, please hear me out. One of the most controversial questions asked in the Bible is, “What shall I do to inherit eternal life?” The answer Jesus gave to the rich young ruler in Luke 18 has made some people poor as they sold everything they have to give to the poor. But it has also offended many because they find Jesus’ answer very impractical and unfair. But do you know that a lawyer asked Jesus the same question in Luke 10, but Jesus gave him a different response, and He did not ask the lawyer to sell anything to give to the poor? The conflicting answers Jesus gave made me want to understand this controversial question so that I may respond to Him appropriately. I discovered that to inherit means to transfer ownership from a father to his children. When the ownership is transferred to the son, the son now has the authority over the inheritance and the power to decide what is good and evil over it. Understanding this, I learned that we could not inherit eternal life because the Father has given everything to His Son, Jesus. Because He owns everything, only Jesus can give us eternal life.
