Dyl & Friends

Sam Mitchell: Mastermind of Hokball & the Footy Revolution | #273

10 Mar 2025

Description

YESSS FAM Welcome to the Dyl & Friends Coaches Month!!! Thanks to our great friends at Tackle Your Feelings, we are bringing you an episode with a legendary AFL coach every Monday in the month of March. This week we have none other than the great Sam Mitchell. Few players have left a mark on the AFL quite like this guy. A four-time premiership player, Brownlow Medalist, and one of the most influential midfielders of his era, Mitchell built a reputation on elite decision-making, precise disposal, and an unmatched ability to read the game. Today, we dive into his playing career, discussing how he'd feel coming into the competition now if he was a player. We chat about the lessons he's learned and the legends he has learnt them from, the Hawks ability to get the entire AFL interested in their journey & we even talk about his days playing Call Of Duty & FIFA with Jake Waterman at the Eagles. It was incredible to sit down with Sam & learn so much about one of the best to ever do it. Thanks again to Tackle Your Feelings & the AFLCA for getting this one over the line.
