Premiership Eagle, media weapon, and all-around good bloke, Schoey joins us for a special episode that goes deep on resilience, grief, culture, and coming of age in one of the most intense AFL eras. Schoey takes us back to his early days from being interviewed by Choco at 8:30pm, not wanting to go to Port, and making the huge move across the country as a teenager. Drafted to West Coast in 2006, he walked into a club filled with stars like Judd and Cousins during one of its most chaotic chapters. He shares what it was like debuting in that era, watching the drug saga unfold, and the massive cultural shifts he saw over his 14-year career. We talk about the 2015 Grand Final loss, and the rollercoaster that followed. Schoey opens up about losing his dad, grieving the loss of a mate, falling in and out of the side, and how fatherhood gave him purpose. His 2018 premiership story is raw, emotional, and a proper lesson in perseverance. Plus, we chat about life after footy, how BackChat started, his work with Fox Footy and why he's more than happy behind the mic these days.
